Apart from being an easy-to-make dish, Cauliflower Gratin has been recommend by nutritionists as an ideal serve especially if you are struggling with shedding unwanted pounds.
Some of the ingredients used to make this recipe include: bread crumbs, milk, cauliflower, nutmeg, Gruyere, and Parmesan.
Preheat oven until it reaches 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook cauliflower florets in hot salted water until they become tender but firm.
In a saucepan, melt 2 butter tablespoons and add flour while stirring constantly for 2 minutes.
Add hot milk to your mixture of flour and butter. Stir until it mixes well. Let the mixture boil as you whisk constantly for 1 minute until. The mixture should thicken.
Remove from heat and add 1 teaspoon of nutmeg, salt, pepper, Gruyere, and Parmesan.
Pour one third of sauce in an 8 by 11 by 2 inch dish. Place your cauliflower on top and spread the sauce uniformly on top.
Sprinkle ¼ cup of Gruyere on top of the bread crumbs. Melt the other 2 butter tablespoons and drizzle over the gratin.
Season with pepper and salt. Bake until the top turn’s brown, about 5-6 minutes. Your dish is now ready and can be served while it’s hot or left to cool to room temperature.
